Jakarta - Bom bunuh diri kembali menyerang Pakistan. Kali ini terjadi di Kota Lahore, Pakistan Timur. 35 Orang tewas dalam peristiwa tersebut.

Peristiwa tersebut terjadi, Kamis (1/7/2010), di sebuah makam sufi. Seperti dilansir AFP, seorang pejabat kota menyebutkan sedikitnya 35 orang terluka dalam peristiwa itu.

Sementara itu, seorang pejabat kota Sajjad Bhutta menyebutkan jumlah korban masih simpang siur. Namun sedikitnya 18 korban tewas saat bom bunuh diri menyerang.

"Menewaskan sedikitnya 18 orang dan mencederai 45 orang," kata Sajjad seperti dikutip Reuters.

Ia menambahkan, serangan terjadi sebanyak tiga kali, satu serangan terjadi di gerbang kuil dan dua di ruang bawah tanah.

Saat peritiwa itu, sejumlah besar umat tengah mengunjungi kuil Data darbar, Syed Ali Hajwairi.

Intel Anaphase - Single Thread Acceleration on Multiple Cores

Deep within Intel Labs Barcelona, a new software/hardware thread acceleration technique has been developed to boost performance of single thread applications on multi-core processors, the catch is we probably won't see it for another couple years.

Anaphase is a hybrid system of software and hardware to increase the efficiency and processing of single thread applications on multi-core hardware. At the hardware level, a new unit called an "Inter-Core Memory Coherency Module" (ICMC) could find it's way into your next processor, its job is to detect memory violations and has recovery mechanisms for the purpose of running partitioned applications generated at compile time.

At the moment, there are only simulated benchmark results, showing improvements of between 31-41% compared to a non-Anaphase system, so real world results will probably be much lower. Current processors do not have this ICMC unit, so we're unlikely to see any improvement in current apps in the near future, but it would appear Intel is preparing the framework for it's supercomputer on a chip (SCC) and Terascale projects. Sorry, no magic cure for a our Single thread - Multi-core Woes just yet.


Researchers from Intel Labs Barcelona now presented “Anaphase” which is a novel hardware/software hybrid approach to leverage multiple cores in order to improve single-thread performance on multi-core processors. This research focuses on different speculative techniques to automatically partition single thread applications to be processed on multiple cores.

TERUNGKAPNYA Chip AMD Fusion Prosesor Hybrid Accelerated Processing

AMD telah mengungkapkan desain chip pertama untuk gabungan chip hybrid mikroprosesor-grafis dengan kode Fusion di Computex. AMD akan menampilkan chip hardware yang dapat bekerja pada tahun ini dan meluncurkan Accelerated Processing Units/APU (bukan CPU atau GPU lagi, karena APU merupakan gabungan keduanya).

Nvidia saat ini hanya memproduksi GPU, sedangkan Intel sudah memulai gabungan chip GPU-CPU dengan Atomnya. Tetapi AMD berencana untuk mengkombinasikan komponen grafis yang mumpuni dengan CPU yang kencang juga. Mereka berharap chip baru ini akan murah, hemat listrik dan berperforma kencang. AMD sudah mempersiapkan hal ini sejak mengakuisisi ATI pada tahun 2006.

Apabila AMD sukses dengan Fusion maka akan sulit bagi Intel maupun NVidia untuk mengejarnya.

Microsoft pun akan mendukung Fusion ini dengan menyediakan software multimedia DirextX yang dapat bekerja di Fusion. Menurut AMD chip APU ini akan diluncurkan pada awal pertengahan tahun 2011.
